This cocktail is near and dear to our hearts as a memory of our travels in Portugal. We were fortunate enough to spend 8 days touring the small, but stunning country, taking in history, sites, food and spending quality time with family. With the world cup happening while we were traveling Lisbon and Porto, it was common to enjoy this drink while rooting for your favorite team. "Caipis" or Caipirinhas, were abundant - so, we had to try them. Fun fact: Caipirinha is Portugal's national cocktail made from Cachaca. Cachaca is a liquor made in Brazil, and as Brazil and Portugal share history and customs, the drink is very popular in both countries. Known as a drink of the people, Caipirinhas are minimalist and are dangerously delicious. We had our fair share of these while watching the worlds best soccer/futbol teams strive for the title of world champions. The recipe is simple: lime, Cachaca, sugar and ice.

Directions
