The Gin Gimlet, a classic fifty's cocktail, has made a comeback these days for its smooth taste and its beautiful color. This cocktail, unlike some of our previous cocktails, uses dry gin. We usually don't buy dry gin, but we happened upon buying it a few days ago to try out some new cocktail recipes, and boy do we love it! For anyone new to gin cocktails we highly recommend the Gin Gimlet. It's smooth and light, perfect for any night out.

Ingredients

Directions

Gin Gimlet

Start with your tools. You'll need a mixing glass, a bar spoon, a pairing knife, a strainer, shot glass, ice, and a coup or martini glass (chilled).

Gin Gimlet

Pour in your lime juice, over ice, in your mixing glass.

Simple Syrup

Measure out your simple syrup (which is equal parts hot water and sugar combined until the sugar dissolves).

London Dry gin

Add in your two shots, or 2 oz of gin.

Gin stir

Stir for 1 minute, don't shake. The glass will become very cold and all your ingredients will combine.

Gin strain

Strain your combined cocktail into your (chilled) coup or martini glass for a beautifully smooth cocktail. Garnish with a thin slice of lime.
