Nathan and myself are big cocktail fans, especially when we can pair them with excellent food. We love to try all the different flavors that get created in the cocktail making process and work hard to appreciate even the strangest concoctions. Well, after Nathan invested in a bottle of Campari I decided it was time to finally give this recipe a go. The usual boulevardier is 1 parts each, but we tinkered with our proportions a bit to make sure we had just the right blend of ingredients to really give our drink the kick we wanted. Give this one a try as a substitute for a sweet 'n sour or just as new experiment- you won't regret it!

Ingredients

Directions

Start by stirring together the Campari, Rye, and Vermouth in a mixing glass full of ice. Meanwhile, chill a rocks glass or martini glass. Stir until ice cold. Let the drink sit for a moment while you use a peeler to get a orange peel garnish. Take out your chilled glass and, after stirring one or two more times, strain your drink into the chilled glass. Add the 4 dashes of bitters and stir gently. Twist the orange peel over the drink and rub around the rim before dropping into the drink. Cheers!
